⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
The Toynbee Convector by Ray Bradbury consists of 23 short stories. This is my third collection Bradbury short stories, the other two being The Martian Chronicles and The Stories of Ray Bradbury. That being said, I have read over 100 of his 600 hundred short stories (I am immensely impressed by the volume of his writing), and he never fails to impress. Obviously there are always some short stories that stand out more than the rest, and my personal favorites from this particular collection were The Toynbee Convector, One Night in Your Life, Banshee, At Midnight in the Month of June, A Touch of Petulance, and Long Division.
It’s no secret that I love Ray Bradbury, and especially his short stories. Like in all of his short story collections, some were amazing, and some were just okay, but even the ones that were just okay were still good, yet not nearly as gripping as some of his better work. Out of the favorites I mentioned, One Night in Your Life and At Midnight in the Month of June had to have been my two absolute favorites in this book. What I furthermore love about Bradbury is that he has a wide range of writing across genres. Some of his work is very science fiction, while some is very fantasy, and some is just plain fiction. He never fails to impress me in whatever genre he so chooses. I would definitely recommend this book to any Bradbury fan, or even just a fan of good short stories!
