'The Elements of Style' by William Strunk, 86 pages - Instagram @c_reads_books

The Elements of Style by William Strunk, as the introduction states, “aims to give in brief spaces the principle requirements of plain English style.” It consists of seven sections: (I) introductory, (II) elementary rules of usage, (III) elementary principles of composition, (IV) a few matters of form, (V) words and expressions commonly misused, (VI) spelling, and (VII) exercises on chapters II and III.

I sort of liked this book. To be completely honest, I mostly read this book because it’s very short, and I’m scrambling to finish my 2020 reading goal! That being said, I found maybe a few rules and advice on writing outlined in this book useful, yet the vast majority of it was things I already knew. Personally, I didn’t find this book to be very interesting or useful, but I would recommend it to anyone who needs help with writing and grammar / composition rules!
