⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Steal Like an Artist by Austin Kleon, as the cover states, details “10 things nobody told you about being creative.” The 10 things are (1) steal like an artist, (2) don’t wait until you know who you are to get started, (3) write the book you want to read, (4) use your hands, (5) side projects and hobbies are important, (6) the secret: do good work and share it with people, (7) geography is no longer our master, (8) be nice, (9) be boring, and (10) creativity is subtraction. Each piece of advice is elaborated on with personal experience, quotes, drawings, and more.
I very much loved this book. I agreed with and was interested in basically everything Kleon had to say. This book has definitely inspired me and makes me want to do something creative. I also really enjoyed the format of this book, with Kleon’s drawings and art intertwining his writing. The drawings, quotes from other artists, and overall format definitely contribute to the desire to create that this book inspires in its readers. Overall, I really enjoyed this book and recommend it to anyone looking for inspiration to create!
