'Nine Stories' by J. D. Salinger, 198 pages - Instagram @c_reads_books

Nine Stories by J. D. Salinger includes nine short stories, as you can probably tell by its title. The stories range from 13 to 36 pages long, and each has interesting characters and a captivating plot. I unequivocally love short stories, and what I loved most about Salinger’s was that each one was unquestionably him, yet still beautifully unique.

Some of my favorites out of the nine were A Perfect Day for Bananafish, Just Before the War with the Eskimos, For Esmé-with Love and Squalor, and Teddy (which was probably my number one favorite). I love Salinger’s writing, with all of the layers he adds to his stories, and the fact that his views and cynicism always shine through. I would definitely recommend this book to anyone who likes Salinger or just short stories in general!
