⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5
Look at the Birdie by Kurt Vonnegut contains 14 short stories, published posthumously, two years after Vonnegut’s death. The short stories in this book are wide in their topics, ranging from a high school genius to wrongly accused criminals to million year old ants, and everything in between. Regardless of the topic though, each short story contains Vonnegut’s signature way of storytelling, describing people and the world in a way that only he could.
I absolutely loved this book, as I do literally all of Vonnegut’s work. I am a huge fan of short stories, and I particularly love Vonnegut’s. Specifically, some of my favorites from this collection were Ed Luby’s Key Club, Hall of Mirrors (probably my number one favorite), The Petrified Ants, Look at the Birdie, and The King and Queen of the Universe. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys short stories, or is looking for an amazing quick read!
