In 2020, I read a grand total of 75 books, squeezing in seven books in the last six days to successfully complete my goal of 75 books!

I started the year off with Jonathan Livingston Seagull by Richard Bach (⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5), and I finished the year off with The Importance of Being Earnest by Oscar Wilde (⭐️⭐️⭐️/5).

The longest book I read this year was Forever by Pete Hamill (⭐️⭐️⭐️/5), which is 613 pages long. The shortest book I read this year was The Nobel Lecture by Bob Dylan, which is 23 pages long.

I read a total of 15,789 pages, with the length of the books I read averaging at about 211 pages per book.

My top 10 favorite books I read this year were (in no particular order) Something Wicked This Way Comes by Ray Bradbury, Purple Hibiscus by Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, Slapstick by Kurt Vonnegut, All My Sons by Arthur Miller, A Clockwork Orange by Anthony Burgess, Against Happiness by Eric G. Wilson, Everything I Never Told You by Celeste Ng, Anxious People by Fredrik Backman, In Praise of Wasting Time by Alan Lightman, and Death is Hard Work by Khaled Khalifa.

A few of my least favorite books I read this year were (also in no particular order) The River of Consciousness by Oliver Sacks, Inferno by Dante Alighieri, Lean on Me by Pat Simmons, and Forever by Pete Hamill.

I also reread a few books, with those being The Great Gatsby by F. Scott Fitzgerald, Animal Farm by George Orwell, Breakfast of Champions by Kurt Vonnegut, A Thousand Splendid Suns by Khaled Hosseini, and The Handmaid’s Tale by Margaret Atwood (read twice this year).

I averaged about six books per month, one and a half books per week, and 43 pages per day. I also averaged four and a half out of five stars across all of the books I read.

Overall, this was a phenomenal reading year for me, with over half (43 out of 75) of the books I read this year receiving five out of five stars!

I cannot wait to start reading next year, with my 2021 reading goal being 60 books! I hope everyone has a happy and healthy new year, and continues to read as we move into 2021! See you next year!

*Not pictured above, but also read: The Poet X by Elizabeth Acevedo, Forever by Pete Hamill, and The Handmaid’s Tale (the second time).

**Edit: I did not read Galápagos by Kurt Vonnegut in 2020; the book on the bottom of the middle stack is supposed to be Slapstick by Kurt Vonnegut!
